GRAPE VARIETY: Chardonnay. COLOR: A very light yellow, brilliant, crystalline, pale gold. PALATE: On the palate, a dry and round wine, often mineral (flint, flint), lively in ardor from the start. NOSE: On the nose, subtle aromas of fruit (peach, pear) or acacia, honeysuckle, fern develop, with frequent notes of fresh almond, hazelnut, cinnamon, butter and sometimes honey. Exotic fruit appears from time to time, as do citrus fruits (orange peel). THE ESTATE AND THE WINE: The name of the Domaine de la Croix Senaillet is inspired by the name of the cross offered by a former mayor of the village of Davayé: Benoît Senaillet. According to historical accounts, Benoit Senaillet donated this cross to this wine-growing village in 1866 to replace a cross previously destroyed in 1793 during the Revolution. According to belief, the Senaillet Cross brings protection to the people of the village and to all those who cross it on their path.
