Origin/Terroir: Located in the heart of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, Château Perron covers approximately 23 hectares, on gravelly and sandy-gravelly soil on clay and iron oxide. Vinification/Ageing: Traditional, cold pre-fermentation, alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled cement vats, post-fermentation maceration, malolactic fermentation under marc, approximately 45 days of vatting. Draining into barrels or truncated cone-shaped vats, aging for approximately one year. The wine: The dark, very deep red, almost black color is combined with a generous bouquet still dominated by notes of fruit, blackcurrant and blackberries, which reveals great complexity: spicy notes and a hint of toasted roast. The warm, spicy and well-blended palate offers ample and unctuous material supported by smooth tannins that testify to precise vinification. Certainly a great wine from this exceptional terroir.
